Hay Festival 2010 at Hay-on-wye
Thursday, 27 May, 2010
The Hay Festival of Arts & Literature is one of the biggest festivals of its kind in the world, and was described in 2001 by Bill Clinton as "The Woodstock of the mind".
It's always one of the cultural events of the year, and this year the Guardian Hay Festival 2010 promises to be no different. Set in the village of Hay-on-Wye in South Wales, it brings together some of the best minds of our age. Last year's festival was attended by the current Poet Laureate and award winning poet Carol Ann Duffy, writers including one of the most recognised intellectuals in the country, Stephen Fry, as well as David Simon, Melvyn Bragg and David Nicholls, and other celebrities, comedians and important figures, such as Dara O'Briain, Dylan Moran, David Frost, Sandi Toksvig, Desmond Tutu, Rhodri Morgan and Rowan Williams.
You can stay on site, but if you want to rest properly to awake fresh and alert each morning, ready for more mental stimulation in the day ahead, then book a hotel nearby, and make the most of this truly unique experience...
