Hotels in Neath
Neath is a thriving market town with the clock tower
of St David’s Church at its heart.
The remains of Neath Castle and other features dating back
to the Industrial Revolution can be found here.
It has an indoor market selling fresh produce and a range
of traditional goods.
Victoria Gardens in the centre combine a 19th century
bandstand with a circle of standing stones which were
erected for the National Eisteddfod back in 1918.
Rugby is one of our great passions. At The Gnoll - home to
Neath Rugby, the Welsh All Blacks – you will find top quality
rugby throughout the season.
Set within splendid countryside, Neath is a former copper town built around a now-ruined 13th century castle that was sacked in the 14th century by Llewelynn the Great. The Romans got here first, though, and built a fort in about 70 AD, calling it Nidum. The remains of 12th century Neath Abbey can be seen on the outskirts of present-day Neath. At nearby Resolven is the 80ft waterfall of Melin Court.
